“Darling, your tears are worthless.
Blot them out! Fix your face!
Your hysteria is pathetic-
You need putting in your place.”
Her cruel cold eyes look down on me,
As her words pierce my heart.
There’s no Motherly Love to be seen
As she tears my confidence apart.
“Stand up! And stop your sobbing.
Your face is marred with Tear tracks.
I care not for apologies-
Come, let us paint over the cracks.”
She leaves no bruises or wounds;
At least not outwardly.
But dig inside and you’ll soon find
She is destroying me.
