Personality: A kind, charming girl at first glance, Jenna, or Jen, or Jennifer, depending on her mood, often gives the initial impression of being one of those girls without a care in the world. She laughs freely, and openly. She smiles warmly, and affectionately at everyone she meets. Most importantly though, she radiates her own aura of comforting warmth. "She's like a teddy bear." More than a few of her close friends have been noted to observe. "I just wish she was always like that." Unfortunately for them, Jen isn't, and that's not likely to change soon either.
Jen has an overactive imagination. Not the kind that dreams up things often, or one that has ideas about the most insane things at the most awkward moments, no. Instead, she has the kind of overactive imagination that will honestly take every action you make, every word you say, and every tiny flicker of your eyes and she will create her own story behind it all. This has presented one major flaw in her personality, and that is that she never gets to know who anyone really is. Not that she ever feels the need to, since she imagines she's got it all correct anyways, but it does tend to drive people away.
There is one exception to this imagination of hers, and that, is her brother. No one knows exactly why this is, or how it's even possible since her brother spends less time with her than many, but she still never, ever assumes anything about him. "I blame it on his aura." One of Jen's Ex-boyfriends said crossly as he folded his arms over his chest. Whatever the reason, Vincent seems to be the only person Jen has ever truly gotten to know.
Besides this one major imperfection though, Jenna is potentially the kindest, sweetest, gentlest girl on the planet. She's shy, despite her effervescent appearance, and is rather quiet when left to her own thoughts. For the most part, no one really notices this, because for over 95% of the time she's with at least 1 other person. Easily amused, but hard to keep that way. Takes compliments well, so long as she sees them as compliments. Overall, simply a lovely girl with a bit more belief in her own reality, rather than the one we all share.
Appearance: It's been said that only blind people ever only take one look at Jenna. Why? "That girl is incredible to look at." Is the average answer given by anyone who's seen her. Jen isn't exactly beautiful. She's not stunning, not gorgeous, not radiant, some would argue she's not even cute, yet most people can't help but look at her every chance they get.
Her waist long hair is often tied into seven 'tails,' as she calls them, and has been dyed a deep sea blue that makes it seem as though it might all simply flow away at a moments notice, if the multihued ties were keeping it all in place. She has eyes of the most amazing shade of green. Darker than the forest at night, and yet they contain a dull brilliance behind them, like moonlit dew on the leaves of that same forest. Each eye is set perfectly amidst the silky, delicate features of her thin face.
She's short, only somewhere around 5'2" (1.. cm) and is built somewhat like a fairy in that she seems almost abnormally thin, even for her diminutive size. Even with her small body, she has long fingers and legs which only enhance the strange quality of her appearance. However, in stark contrast to her ‘fairy’ appearance, Jen will only ever wear long, flowing skirts and tank tops, or a set of clothes that perfectly matches her brother’s, just in a smaller size. Her skin is of the olive hue typical to the region in which she lives, but, whenever viewed, will always appear either lighter, or darker, depending on the lighting.
Together with her strangely cute personality and aura, Jen makes for a wondrous enigma to the eye. “But,” Jen’s grade school art teacher once informed a group of concerned parents, “Words just don’t do justice to that girl’s looks. You’ll have to see her yourself.”
Any special qualities? Jen has become, despite what every teacher ever told her, an amazing cook. Sure, she only knows a handful of recipes, but she knows them well enough to impress anyone who’s ever had the dish before.
Wish: Just for people to stop staring at her.
History: Jen’s earliest memories are those of her brother, standing above her crib as she wailed for attention which he so earnestly tried to give to her. In fact, memories of her parents are few and faded, and don’t even start until after her third birthday party, on a day when they all went out for a picnic together in the park. She has, not surprisingly, always felt rather attached to her brother, and appreciates everything he has done for her, including quitting school to support them both.
After her parent’s death, Jen decided that, in order to properly remember them, something drastic had to change in her. This change was her hair. She spent nearly three months searching, pondering, and questioning which color would properly pay tribute to the two people who gave life to her and Vincent, as well as not taint her appearance too much. Eventually, it was decided on blue, and it all changed. The day she dyed her hair, she went to the local stylist and asked her to change the color to “The purest blue possible.” In order to do so, it was necessary to bleach Jen’s hair before dying it. Once bleached, she happened to catch an image of herself in the mirror and called a halt to the process so that she could take a picture. Her hair, in that moment, looked so similar to her brother’s that she almost considered keeping it that way, but threw out the idea in order to stick to her principles. Ever since that day, Jen has always remembered her parents whenever looking in the mirror. More importantly though, she remembers how her hair looked in that mirror.
Growing up in a household with one full time carpenter and one full time student, Jen had to do her share of the work around the house, and learned to cook several dishes insanely well after immense amounts of practice. In fact, both her friends and instructors now regularly visit the Miliani household. “It’s hard not to come when you know she’s making spaghetti.” Her best friend said with a dreamy look in her eyes. “Everyone brings extra noodles, of course. But she makes them all taste like they came from Heaven.”
Other: Jen is, like her brother, seriously addicted to cherries.
