Walking through the fires of heaven
Laughing at the graces of hell
Some people say this is eden
I look at them and say "Well...

If this is what you call eden
Then maybe you should go back
Because if this is all you dream of
Then dreams are what you lack."

I had never heard words so stupid
So don't ask me to explain
Everyone here knows humans
All they manage to do is complain

When you finally get to your paradise
Look to the sky and want more
Because when you're living where your dream ends
Reality knocks on your door

2010-11-18 Annie: Intriguing title and nice poem. Some nice punches in here! "Because if this is all you dream of/Then dreams are what you lack" is especially nice. Good juxtaposition in the first two lines as well. Describing things in ways that we don't expect.
Meter in the line "All they manage to do is complain" seems to be just a tad off...maybe I just read it differently than you heard it yourself.

2010-11-18 Annie: Haha ya...I just felt like sharing some love around Thanksgiving. Had a little time so I've been commenting/rating around on the few active members in hopes that it will encourage them to post more...although I should be using it to write on NaNo. Procrastination to the max!
