“I have a little gift for you too Derek.” I said as we sat on the couch. “Really? What?” he asked. I grabbed his hand tight and pulled him up. Then I pulled him fast up to the stairway and up all the way to our room on the third floor with me.
We crawled through the trap door and locked it good. He wasn’t sure yet what was going on, but he went with it still. “Ok, now turn around and close your eyes,” I told to him in no particular tone, “then count to ten slowly. After that, open your eyes and count to three. When you get to three, turn back around. Ok? Can you do that?” I said to him as if he was a little child with ADHD or something no older than ten.
