My own
bbc in its very early stage.
Meh putting it in backward chronology is gonna be hard.. I'll just sum up for now
First I checked
http://www.literaturepage.com/read/ for books i have read.
- A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
I read most of Sherlock Holmes' stories last year.
- Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
So blah
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Read this in the paper. They published the whole story once.
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
Ugh big dissappointmen
t -_-
- Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Had to read this for English class long time ago.
- Grimms' Fairy Tales by The Brothers Grimm
We have this big yellow book with all the stories. I used to read them when I was bored.
- Macbeth by William Shakespeare
Had to read this for uni.
- Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
Read this for school again.
- Othello, Moor of Venice by William Shakespeare
Uni again.
- Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Uni.
- The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sherlock Holmes.
- The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
Hmm the Disney-movie got me interested. Right after that I read Les Misérables.
- The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
Looong time ago.
- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Read this last year after seeing a movie about Oswar Wilde.
- The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
Isn't this a poem?
Fantasy:
- Lotr and The Hobbit of course :) by Tolkien
- Wizard first, second and third rule by Terry Goodkind
Not my favourites and I stopped reading the fourth book after a while
Thriller:
Almost everything by Robin Cook
My mum is a fan :3
- The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm a sheep
- Angels and demons by Dan Brown
- Timeline by Michael Crighton
Liked the book, the movie sucked (but still <3 Gerald Butler and Billy Connely)
- Two detectives by Tami Hoag, don't remember much of them only that they are good ^^
Other:
- De hongerheldin by Amélie Nothomb
(only know the Dutch title :/)
- The Secret history by Donna tart
I can't believe I forgot to mention this one before. I absolutely loved the book!
After finishing it I felt like rereading it right away.
- The little friend by Donna Tart
Not as good as The Secret History (might have something to do with the fact that I read this one in Dutch :/) but I enjoyed reading it. She is such a great writer. The story is kinda long-winded sometimes but I couldn't put the book down.
Old stuff from my childhood:
- Every historical novel by Thea Beckman
Still some of my favourite books; they were my own Harry Potter ^^
- Lots of stuff by Roald Dahl
- Crap I had to read for school
Real bbc starts here:
- Deception Point by Dan Brown
This guy sure knows how to create tension. He writes little chapters of a few pages and ends them with a cliffhanger. This means that everytime you want to know what happens next with those characters you have to finish the next chapter, which again gets you curious. So allthough this is not great literature at all (that "love-story" he just always has to put in is nothing but annoying) it is very difficult to put the book down.
- Lord of the Flies by William Golding
At first I didn't like it too much (overdose of crashed planes on islands stories I guess) but then when the story developes it gets clear why this book is considered "a modern classic".
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
*lubs it*
- Honour of the Grave by Robin D. Laws
It's a Warhammer novel! :o Amg with orcs and halflings and bad elves :o
Probably it was left behind by my ex-future-to-be-brother-in-law-who-has-now-been-replaced. Lying around here for over a year it provoked my bored curiosity.* (and then I mean the book of course)
I didn't expect much from it but after reading the first couple of pages I just wanted to know what happened next.
So however it's not great Literature I quite enjoyed reading this little guy flick. ^^
*I'm a reader not a writer, bear with me.
