Fire, white and scorching, suddenly sprang up out of the chasm and high into the empty sky. It's warmth and touch eluded the thirteen people standing around the chasm, despite how close they were to it.

It was... thirteen, wasn't it?

All of them stared into the flames silently, each with a look that betrayed the unending sadness they all shared.

No. It was twelve...

The flames rose higher, raging and dancing against the black sky. It brought shadows that danced along with it on their faces and clothes. Yet they all stood, unmoving, unable to notice this potential threat to their very lives.

Threat...? The fire couldn't... it didn't have the ability.

Rather suddenly one of the twelve, a young girl with a soft face and slender figure, dropped to her knees, the tears streaming down her face and splashing against the ground uncontrollably. As if it noticed, the fire dropped back into the chasm, away from the air where she could see it. Even though it left, she still cried without any foreseeable end.

But... she shouldn't have. She was the one who wanted it.

As the girl wailed for the unimaginable loss, the others shook their heads and walked away. Many would be unable to handle the grief as well as she had. None of them would ever forget that night. How could you forget the night your sister betrayed you?
