[Mister Saint]
"All of this time, I've seen Earth as this immense, scary place, the be all and end all of everything that life has to offer. It's funny how a few days can change how a person looks at something, because now it doesn't look so intimidating. From a few thousand miles away, it just looks like a blue and white ball. Ah... that was awful."
The soft click and whirr of a tape recorder rewinding, for the sixth time in about five minutes, brought a kind of half smile to Elise's lips. On Earth, it wasn't so blasted difficult to keep a diary, but in space the thoughts just would not come. Perhaps she lacked the eloquence to properly describe the sight of her homeworld in the distance. Perhaps the awe-inspiring emptiness of space had stolen the words from her heart.
But, more than likely, she was just hungry. Rising lethargically from her plastic chair, she decided to make her way to the mess hall and get ahold of something to eat.
[Askoga]
On her way to the mess hall, Elise pauses to gaze out at the great expanse of space outside, and the little blue and white ball that is Earth. She wonders again what made her agree to come so far away from a place she'd once thought of as so huge. Now she's in an even bigger place.
After only a few moments of gazing, though, her stomach reminds her of what she'd been doing with a loud grumble. She turns and continues on to the mess hall, to get herself a burger. The place is fairly full, since it is lunch time, and she sits at one of the less-crowded tables with her spaceburger.

[Mister Saint]
"Yum yum, soy and lettuce on a bun." A uniformed fellow down the table left his seat at the sight of Elise, toddling over to sit across from her and smile an idiot's smile. "When are you going to give up on the rabbit food and get some pickles on that thing?"
Elise just smiled back at him. "Pickles are rabbit food, goofy. Oh, and good morning." Why, oh why, did we have to bring military along for the ride? Its not like we're fighting a war up here...

[Nightshadow]
"Morning? Kind of. Weird being in space and all that. And bah...rabbit food indeed. Better to have food rabbits, get it?" He cracks himself up at the joke, but promptly breaks into a coughing fit when he quite literally inhales his food. "Damnit...gotta stop doing that..." he takes a drink.
As though morning swigs of soda pop are the universal cue for emergencies, a low alarm sounds just a moment before the entire room is bathed in a flashing red light.
Elise blinks. "So these things really don't just look like this in the movies? I wonder what's wrong..." the musing's cut off by a sip of water. It helps her to maintain an air of casual nonchalance that's about to pop and leave her running around screaming.

[Metal Tsubasa]
A man, also dressed in military uniform, rushes past the table, but turns back, noticing a comrade. His obnoxios purple hair, caused by his race's mix with a human race, falls over his eyes and he quickly brushes it aside. "What do you think you're doing!" the man shouts, though his voice sounds as though he has hardely passed into his teen years. "We're needed at the bridge!" He pauses, turning to Elise. "Sorry ma'am, but no time for food at the moment, we have an attack on our hands." With that, the strange man continued in the path he had attempted to earlier.

[Askoga]
Elise stares after the two of them as they leave, then goes back to her burger, trying to remain calm. When she looks up again to find her water glass, she finds herself staring into a pair of aqua eyes. Startled, she doesn't speak for a moment.
The person she's staring at says pleasantly, "Hello," then she smiles brightly. "Don't worry, I was just on the bridge, and the attack isn't going to be anything major."
Just then something hits the ship. Elise can hear it make a loud sound as it hits the shields. "If you say so...." she says uncertainly.

[Mister Saint]
The stranger's smile is disarming, to say the least.
"Oh, I do say so. In fact, we should be finished taking this vessel over in just a few minutes. No casualties, no spent rounds..." The glassy pistol in the stranger's hand proves to be somewhat less comforting. "It's gone very well."
Elise holds her breath, trying to decide whether or not she should scream for help, administer a restaraunt quality beatdown to this all-too-cheerful would-be captor, or just sit tight and see what happens. It is a tough decision for her, but in the end she knows that she must do whatever her instincts say. No regrets, either way.
[Metal Tsubasa]
The purple haired man paused at the door as he heard those behind him talking. "Try to keep the passengers calm," he sighed to himself, as if going over a list of rules in his head. Loki was like that, he had to keep to the book. "Calm is one thing, over confidante is another." He then turned completly to shout back, "To the bridge! Now! I will not allow lazy men on this ship!"

[Mister Saint]
Elise pauses, giving a slight smile. "Looks like your party's been cancelled, eh?"
The stranger smiles in kind. "Nah. I'm pretty sure there's a nasty surprise waiting for mister authority on the bridge. I'd like for him to believe that everything is going to plan, at least for a few more minutes. But you don't move, okay? I don't want to shoot you."

[Askoga]
Elise makes very cerrtain not to move, since she really doesn't want to be shot, either. She does look around the room. It would appear that there are rather a lot of 'strangers' onboard, which means that the ship has been rather effectively comandeered. She sighs softly. This trip really is not going well.
Meanwhile, on the bridge things are going according to plan. Well, according to the plans of the usurpers, that is.

[Ash]
A rather yellow looking man came over to Elise and her new companion. “Mam, we have a rather large problem.” He whispered to the stranger. “We need your advise on the bridge, immediately.”
“Well it seems I’d better be going.” She stood up, shook Elise’s hand and wandered down to the bridge. Some one caught her eye, it was the purple haired military officer. He looked like he was having fun as he went around and greeted our new guests.

[Mister Saint]

"Let's go, woman," says another fellow, no doubt a nameless minion-type, "to the bridge. We'll just throw all of the captives in there for now."
Elise stands, willing to cooperate if it means that she won't get shot. The grunt leads her down a long hallway, past flickering panels and walls of pure, sterile steel, into a doorway that opens into a grand, circular chamber. The bridge contains little wasted space. Consoles and keyboards, switches and levers, junk food wrappers, and all the interesting trappings required to navigate a ship pack the walls of the room. Several people are standing against one wall, facing several decidedly non-people of a distinctly alien race.
"Go on in and take your place," says the minion, "and be quiet. There's a meeting going on."

[Ash]
Elise thought about what had happened, at first she thought they were taking over the ship, was it now the other way around? She stood in her spot and watched them while the minion left. They spoke in a tongue not familair to her. They had the most graceful hand movements, though. She was wondering what they were saying, than and how they could be taken captive so close to Earth.
The minion came back but with three more people, one of them the purple haired man. They all lined up next to her and didn't move or make a sound. Before long, everyone was fixed on watching the aliens have their meeting.

[Mister Saint]
"Alright, everyone," one of them said aloud, "we're going to drop our disguises now that your vessel is thoroughly under our control." That person presses a button on a small black remote-control-like device, and within moments the ship is filled with short, pale blue humanoid creatures. "Now," says the one with the device, who has an interesting star pattern of black marks on his bald head, "I will be your new captain. My name is... you couldn't pronounce it... so, my name is Bobo."

2005-06-10 [Askoga]: I'm confused....who is Loki talking to? Didn't he already go to the bridge? Who is being overconfidant? Sorry...maybe I'm just confused too easily......

2005-06-12 [Mister Saint]: Alright, time to play catch up my little ghouls and goblins and assorted tiny things. The perspective is this story, since most of the edits have been made that way, should be in the present tense (he takes the gun, she throws the watermelon). Everyone, please keep up with what's going on in the story, and most importantly, try not to contradict the edit previous to yours.

2005-06-15 [Askoga]: -doesn't know what to do- Sorry....Dikeledi's edit stuck me again. o.o

2005-06-15 [Ash]: Let me help you where i see the story going. If you would please refer up to Tusbasa's last edit, it has the purple hair man fretting, Moorn added that the bridge has a nasty suprise, showing that the stranger knows something Elsie doesn't. Askoga's entry states that the trip isn't going as well as it should and the people in higher ranking had something planned. In mine, I make it that the stranger, who is higher ranked than Elsie, is called to the bridge since something went amiss in their plan and now the purple hair man is trying to calm everyone. Does that clear it up?

2005-06-15 [Askoga]: Okay, I think I see what you were thinking. But....to clear one thing up, a usurper is not a high ranking officer. It's a person taking over something, putting themself in the position of authority. For example, it's more commontly used with royalty, wherre a king would be killed by a usurper, who would then take over the throne.

2005-06-15 [Askoga]: So what I said was actually that things were going according to the plans of the people invading/usurping the ship, but that Elise was not having a good day

2005-06-15 [Ash]: Basically. Hm so that's why I got confuesed, I thought you spelled it wrong, but yes. I hope that clears it up.

2005-07-19 [elfiedawn]: So are there two types of aliens on the ship? Or are some of the invaders simply disguising themselves in a more humanoid form? Or are two alien races about to battle over the ship? I'm so confused...

2005-07-19 [Mister Saint]: *scratches his head* I'm pretty sure there's only one alien race and some are disguised.

2005-07-19 [Ash]: Actually I think the earth ship was taking over another ship but it backfired

2005-08-01 [elfiedawn]: Hm, I think either scenario is possible until it is stated more clearly within the story.

2005-08-01 [Mister Saint]: Allow me to fix it then.

2005-08-01 [elfiedawn]: Bobo! hahaha. Is he a clown, too? hehehe. Anyway, thought I'd add but it said page was getting too large, so I started chapter 2... I looked at the way it was done with the Survivor story, so hopefully I did it correctly.

2005-08-01 [Mister Saint]: Don't worry too much about the page too large thing, it's more like a suggestion. *grins*

2005-08-04 [elfiedawn]: Oh really? Hmmm... ok.

2005-08-04 [Ash]: Seeker of sun and star characters is updated to everyone's writings.
